Brazil 2011 – festival in Caceres

We start early announcement for biggest Folk Dance festival in Brazil  from 4 to 14 August 2011 in Caceres. I already posted some time ago announcement for this year edition of the festival and we can say that it has been a real success. I wish the groups that traveled there to post about their experience, so this will help others to make up their minds easier. The city of Caceres is located at the border with Bolivia and has 87.000 inhabitants, the Rio Paraguay cross along the city. The temperature by that time is around 30° C. Caceres is the second most important city of the Pantanal region. The city has several historical buildings dating from 1775. The festival will be held for the fourth time, and the performances are located in the main stage, parades, performances for schools, there is the possibility for also sell handicrafts. Silk Road Festival 2010 program announced

Ministry of Tourism of Syria announced the program of upcoming events. It is in Arabic, so if you can read it, enjoy it, if no, then would be happy to translate for you. but not at the moment, due to busy time table.. This time the festival will last from 26 of September  with large opening ceremony held in Aleppo Citadel on 27th of September and with closing ceremony planned for 2 of October in Damascus citadel, other activities will be held also in Idleb, Latakia and Palmyra.. Lendorfer Schuhplattler in Syria

Despite Bosra International festival postponement to next year, Lendorfer Schuhplattler dance and music group from Southern Austria didn’t cancel its trip to Syria. The preparations for the trip went smooth and yesterday the group arrived to Damascus! Today the group had performance in Azem Palace, one of most attractive Damascus style houses, that was home of  Azem family and now is museum. Recently it restauration works have finished and it is even more beautiful then before. It is very cozy, can host not more than 400 people, and Ministry of Culture holds their presentations, concerts, it is one of the venues where Bosra Festival groups perform in Damascus. This year when we informed Mr. Nazih Khouri that Austrian group is traveling to Damascus, he was so kind to book this impressive venue for Lendorfer Schuhplattler. Continue Reading

Today is the day! Final of Eurovision Song Contest 2010 from Oslo. Me and my girls will be watching it too and we are all for ARMENIA!! Go Eva Go!  The song is good, the music is good and heart moving and Eva is beautiful and she sings it also very good.

Opening of the European Film Week in Tehran

On 22 May 2010 the “European Film Festival Tehran 2010 ‘was kicked off, with the award-winning Austrian film’ Tot? ‘(2009) of Peter Schreiner on the outdoor stage of the Austrian embassy. During the last years  a joint presentation of European culture in Iran never had been possible. During a week, every night the latest films from Germany, Finland, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic and Switzerland,will be  showed.

Beethoven Festival to 240th Birthday in 2010

 On the occasion of the 240th Birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven, the Beethoven Center Vienna arranged a festival for the first time. The festival aims to contribute to the spread of the European idea, with its humanistic values.
