The second group, which performed at the festival, is Aparajita & Troupe. This troupe is known for an expressive, foot-thumping classical Indian dance form known as Bharatanatyam. Bharatanatyam is one of the most widely practiced forms of traditional Indian dance.
Dressed in colorful traditional Indian saris, the 11-member troupe offered synchronized poses and dances with traditional music acting as the sound track for their shows.
The performers also provided music with the ankle instruments which they wore.
“Aparajita” is the member of India World Cultural Forum (IWCF). The troupe has performed in many countries around the world, including Indonesia, Oman, Spain, Switzerland and on the numerous occasions across India.
Performing for the first time in Qatar, the troupe provided a fitting introduction to the country.
