European groups confirm their participation in Bosra 2010 festival
While we are all awaiting official announcement of dates and countries that will participate in Bosra International festival 2010, following groups already reconfirmed their willingness to participate in this prestigious event. Spain will be represented by Alto Aragon dance group, though we didn’t have chance to cooperate with this famous group, I am sure this will be a good start to do so! France – Ceu de Pau dance group, which last year successfully participated in Hakodate festival ( WMDF) in Japan. Russia will send Saydach National Dance Troupe of Tatarstan, which has been also yearly in worldwide tours. Belgium is choosing Die Rooselaer dance group from Flemish part of the country, we have worked some years ago, when they participated in Jerash festival ( Jordan), which now seized to be. This year for first time we will have a Slovak dance group – Vah coming from Liptov region, with very colorful costumes and dances! Greece is represented by Kyklos dance group that will perform dances and songs from Macedonia and Thrace region. Last years we were cooperating with many groups from this part of Greece and this cooperation has always been fruitful. Italian and Austrian groups are pending and not yet confirmed, a group from Friuli region and a group from Austrian southern region of Corinthia are negotiating their participation at this moment. Since 2003 there was dramatic change in Syrian festival program with large number of European groups willing to take part in this festival, which stages are shared with Syrian and other non-European groups, from India, China, Kazakhstan, and some other Arab county’s representatives, as that happened in 2009 edition of Bosra festival. This year final participant’s list and program will be announced later in spring, after official invitations are issued by the Ministry of Culture.
